During the last two years, we have done our
best to distill as much information as we could
about biology, breeding and the hobby around
this great species at an international level.
We tried as many things as we could, and with
the help and participation of many wonderful
people, we put together a great collection of
articles and such; albeit it is still somewhat
unfinished work. But all of our interviews,
country reports, and personal reports are truly
unique and very special.
Our sincere thanks go to: Tomoko Young, Håkan
Turesson, Bruce Hsueh, Rosario Arijón,
Chris Ng, Luke Roebuck, Robert Gall, Joe Grimes,
Ramona Osche, Claus Osche, and all others.
We have gone as far as we can in this format.
Now it is time to switch gear. Also we realized
that it is time to resume into a not so public
approach. Tired of living on the road. It is
time to set shop in “our garage”,
like a “garage band”, experiment
new sounds and, may be, record again in the
future if and when we feel comfortable to do
so.
Any way the dream is not over. Our ultimate
goal is to reach nirvana in terms of understanding
how to implement “best breeding practices”
in guppy breeding. Next stop for us is trying
to conduct a series of crossing experiments
followed by dissection of guppy skin samples
to try to understand the effects of color genes
and gene complexes, mutations, whatever they
should be called, at a tissue level. This is
the reason because you see two articles on chromatophores
in this issue. We realize this is quasi-science,
but we are not funded by anyone, so what do
we care… lol
We are all going to go our own way and try
to keep in touch. We will keep this site live
as long as we can but for now we need a break
off to experience new drugs, sorry, gups.
We are really proud of what we did.
Thanks for listening us!!!
